Handpicked by the designer before his death with the intention of the pair working side by side, Peter Copping assumed sole responsibility of the house with just three months to prepare for the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015 collection.

This short film tells the story behind Copping’s first collection for Oscar de la Renta, shot and directed by Fabien Constant. From sketches to fittings to interviews with the seamstresses who worked on the line, the short film sheds light on Copping’s processes as Creative Director. In his first collection, Copping has shown his deep respect for Oscar de la Renta’s work and his desire to carry on his legacy.

Copping left a note on each seat at the show that read, “I am immensely proud to have been chosen as the creative director of Oscar de la Renta. Unfortunately things did not go according to our plans and I never had the chance to work with Oscar, which is something I deeply regret.”
