The Alberta Ferretti Spring 2015 collection contained a free-spirited philosophy where the designer turned out a pretty string of lilac, mint and blush beauties of the flower-child variety, opening the show with one gauzy nude style after another — maxidress, jumpsuit, pajama set, crop top over low-rider floral guipure pants.
Right at home in Bohemia, Alberta Ferretti’s various propositions on the sheer Greco-Roman goddess dress, some featured with floral garlands and open apron backs. The collection featured prim collars overlaid on sheer, lace-paneled jumpsuits, of Victorian nightgowns and Elizabethan-era Empire waists and the odd pair of go-go shorts to team with a braided crop top. She wears crocheted slippers, the artisan’s answer to the ubiquitous sporty flat. She has a penchant for long suede: tassels, fringe, vests thrown atop delicately embroidered stretches of creamy, gauzy white.
These frocks, these tunics and matching trousers, these gossamer-inlet denim separates and intricately pieced floral appliqués and delicately fringed suede ensembles brought back a Sixties-Seventies vibe where we were immersed in Bohemia.
