The Mulberry Spring 2015 collection was inspired by the sheer joy of an English country garden on a summer’s day. The great British gardens of Kew, Great Dixter and Sissinghurst, where perennial flowers delphinium, cornflower and cow parsley were seen and sketched for bespoke ready-to-wear prints.
Filled with pretty, three quarter-length silk dresses that were embroidered and sequinned with cornflowers and cow parsely, statement lace blouses and some cute khaki minis and anoraks. Elsewhere, the very fine Swiss-lace looks, like a halter dress in white, stand out for their prettiness. The treacle was cut, somewhat, by more utilitarian garments—polished anoraks, military-inspired blouses, a Lurex tracksuit.
A new star handbag is The Delphie, a clever, minimalist envelope with a flap that can be flipped to the back or front, providing two different color ways.
