Giorgio Armani has released its Fall 2014 ad campaign, and the snaps are a serene and alluring visual feast. The house tapped photographer Sølve Sundsbø for the first time this season, having previously worked with Mert & Marcus.
Conceived as portraits, the images play on chromatic counterpoints between the clothing and the backgrounds, suggesting continuity. Models Marikka Juhler and George Alsford are captured in relaxed poses. The subtle narrative tension creates a new kind of balance, which is emphasised by the powerful nature of the images.
The models contrast with the strong chromatic effect of the pictures, with the saturated lime green and gray hues of the backdrop set against the rich textures of the clothes.
