The Victoria Beckham Fall 2016 eyewear collection sees a focus on wearable, versatile styles that fit easily into the everyday and yet are still supremely luxurious in terms of the craftsmanship and materials used.
The idea of easy to wear eyewear that complements rather than competes with your outfit is explored via the newly modernised Iconic Square style. With a minimalistic aesthetic but universally flattering oversized square lens shape, the Iconic Square comes in subtle, neutral tones. Favourite shapes from previous seasons are revisited and updated with a contemporary twist. The standout style of Spring 2016 – The VB – has evolved into the Refined Classic – a sophisticated acetate design. Flat top shapes from past collections are lent fresh attitude with new sleek detailing in the form of the Audrey Visor and the Flat Top Visor.
The uniting theme amongst the materials used in both the sun and optical ranges this season is texture. Creamy, marble-like surfaces, perforated leather brow bars, and acetate that cleverly mimics scales all feature, bringing a tonal and tactile complexit y to the collection. Heavily influenced by the plush interior of the brand’s flagship Dover Street store, the colour palette includes dark amber, creams, and glossy greens.
Whilst many of the 6 styles within the new optical capsule echo those from the sun range, there is an even greater emphasis on elegantly lean and long shapes.
Branding across the collection is functional, and yet also made a feature of. A new branded hinge binds the eyewear’s construction to its design – highlighting the prominence of quality and innovation within the collection.
