To celebrate the upcoming holidays, Maison Kitsuné enters the world of beauty with an exclusive collection for Japan’s makeup leader Shu Uemura.

The Maison Kitsuné x Shu Uemura collection features brightly colored packaging covered in cartoon illustrations matched by the colors and products themselves: sparkly indigo and plum nail polishes, liners, and eye shadows and a shampoo.

Since its creation, Maison Kitsuné has unveiled a contemporary vision of fashion influenced by Paris and Tokyo and is known for reinventing the “classics” while mixing them with a daring range of colors, prints and materials.

Founder Mr. Shu Uemura was a pioneer of blending eclectic global and cultural crossovers. He fused Japanese sensibilities with techniques learned in Hollywood into products as part of the brand’s DNA, and out of his love for Paris and fashion soon after opened a beauty boutique in St. Germain-des-Prés.

Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, co-founders and creative directors, conceived Maison Kitsuné in 2002. A trip to Japan inspired them to bring their passions together around a single concept: a one-of-a-kind brand that unites fashion, music and design. The name “Kitsuné” meaning “fox” in Japanese and a symbol of versatility, struck them as the most obvious choice. Maison Kitsuné’s men’s and women’s wear strikes a perfect balance between tradition and modernity, comfort and simplicity, chic and laid-back.

From fashion and music to beauty, two of the world’s foremost innovators collide East and West to create a neo-classic interpretation of shu uemura’s art of beauty.
