For the Michael Kors Spring 2016 collection, the designer featured an earthy elegance with romantic softness juxtaposed with relaxed tailoring.

The feminine flourishes of ruffles, chantilly lace and rustic floral embroideries was in direct contrast to the sensuous attitude of clothes that wrap, tie and slide. The collection featured delicate pleating and slashed skirts with crisp black, white and lapis. With sunset tones of crimson and sienna, we were immersed in sun-kissed shades of sand, nutmeg, vanilla, sky and straw. Including perforated suede and textured python mixed with liquid silks, crushed cottons and crinkled gauze, the collection casual yet refined.

The heroes of the Michael Kors Spring 2016 runway show were the artfully rendered handbags that give a nod to the season’s earthy elegance and natural glamour. Each Italian-made accessory was designed with minimalism in mind, in clean, pure shapes that highlight the craftsmanship and extraordinary materials used to create them. At the same time, each bag exudes its own distinctive style, providing an exquisite assortment to choose from and perfectly complement everything from feminine flourishes to relaxed tailoring.

“I wanted the handbags to be more streamlined and neat this season, but still have a tactile sensibility,” said Kors.

The debut of the Michael Kors Spring 2016 Collection lured a chic lineup of fashionable favorites—from Hollywood heroines Naomi Watts and Olivia Wilde to style influencer Lily Aldridge to iconic photographer Mario Testino.
