MARC JACOBS FALL 2025 RTW COLLECTION
Marc Jacobs returned to the New York City Public Library to showcase 19 looks for Fall.

For the Fall 2025 RTW collection, Marc Jacobs was inspired by beauty, defining it as “a quality or combination of qualities that gives pleasure to the mind or senses and is often associated with properties such as harmony of form or color, proportion, and authenticity.”
His reference was neo-19th century, made up of Victorian-inspired vampy gowns, cut with leg-of-mutton sleeves, inflated bustier, and sweeping trains stamped by enormous bows.
The collection featured voluminous silhouettes with exaggerated forms and endless imagination. Details like kooky darting on pants and dress skirts, as well as tube-like, blimp-sized peplums and padding, added surreal drama to classic silhouettes. Bows at the backs of dresses and tops were big, and some bustles were even bigger. A look of pastel layered slips was stripped of sweetness by the addition of pillow padding at the hips and a lacy bra that was ten sizes large. These designs, plus the other 17, were commanding and playful, beautiful, but the opposite of prim or precious.
