EMILIA WICKSTEAD RESORT 2026 COLLECTION
The Resort 2026 collection draws its cinematic language from Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo film.

Fusing cinematic storytelling with refined craftsmanship, the Emilia Wickstead Resort 2026 reinterprets Vertigo’s haunting beauty into a modern narrative of identity, illusion, and transformation—where every garment speaks to the power of what’s seen, and unseen.
At the heart of the collection lies the duality of Kim Novak’s characters—ethereal Madeleine and grounded Judy—whose contrasting personas inspire an exploration of vulnerability versus control. This tension is reflected in the interplay between structure and softness: military-toned birdseye suiting, olive tartan tailoring with cocoon sleeves, and a charcoal boucle check dress evoke Madeleine’s poised, sculptural façade. In contrast, fluid over-shoulder scarf drapes, ditsy violet lilies printed on silk, and soft ribbed knits channel Judy’s raw authenticity and emotional openness.
Hitchcock’s signature palette—icy blues, haunting greens, and vivid reds—translates into vivid sartorial expressions: single wool crepe in olive and vibrant pink, red and lemon moiré Mikado, and cloudy blue silk crepe de chine with contrasting topstitching. Plum-punched satin adds shadow and depth, echoing the film’s moody shifts between illusion and reality.
Design details nod to Hitchcock’s visual motifs: polka dots beneath sheer organza mimic the famous “Vertigo effect,” creating optical distortion and movement. Architectural pleats and sharply drawn necklines capture the film’s surreal transitions and psychological tension.
As Judy is transformed into Madeleine, the wardrobe shifts—tailoring becomes more structured, silhouettes more defined, and colors more composed. This narrative arc plays out through sharp pinched-waist shapes, romantic off-the-shoulder drapes, and diaphanous overlays. Sartorial collared dresses and coat dresses recall Madeleine’s pristine mystique, while a gold metallic double warp jacquard with beaded fringe reimagines glamour with an edge of danger.
