January 8, 2025
In keeping with its dedication to fostering cultural exchanges and a spirit of conviviality, Alaïa‘s unique space, nestled in the heart of the city, features a bookstore and café.
The bookstore is operated in collaboration with Claire de Rouen, a staple in the London literary scene renowned for its curated collection of signed and rare photography, fashion, and art books. This bookstore stands as a testament to Alaïa’s deep appreciation for the arts, showcasing a selection that reflects the current interplay between art, fashion, and photography.
Alongside the bookstore, the Alaïa café will be operated in partnership with Violet Cakes. A culinary institution by chef-owner Claire Ptak, Violet Cakes has an international reputation for its seasonal cakes made with a California sensibility and the best British and European ingredients. Consistently informed by art and fashion, Violet has long served as a place in which to linger and create.
Much like the café at the Paris boutique on rue de Marignan, this new Alaïa café in London provides a welcoming atmosphere for dialogues and discoveries, embodying the warmth and familial connection that defines the Maison’s heritage.
The opening of this new space is a significant addition to the Alaïa London flagship, reinforcing the Maison’s commitment to creating intimate environments at the intersection of fashion, arts, and hosting.
