For Spring 2025, Saint Laurent’s creative director Anthony Vacarello paid tribute to the house’s founder, designer Yves Saint Laurent, and the codes he created for the brand, especially those from the 1970s and ’80s.
The silhouettes in this collection include flowing suits, sleek jackets, and structured blazers, representing a timeless elegance that has long defined the label. This tailored aesthetic is contrasted by a more luxurious, skirt-heavy section of the collection, reminiscent of the vivid, painterly garments the founder often drew inspiration from.
There was a series of glittering brocade jackets, worn with high-neck lace tops and tiered silk miniskirts layered over yet more lace, all rendered in hot pink and orange. There were shining lurex minidresses, layered over more lace.
Each look in the collection is named after women significant to the brand, a nod to the diverse models who have embodied the essence of the Saint Laurent woman over the years. These muses, with their unique allure and distinctive personalities, represent the novel feminine ideal that Yves Saint Laurent cherished.
