For Creative Director Gabriela Hearst, pre-collections are a space for developing and refining the design language of the Maison. The Chloé Resort 2024 collection takes more nuanced and abstract stance centering on notions of consciousness, circularity and timelessness. These themes are expressed holistically on both an aesthetic and technical level. In the Maison’s pursuit of creating real garments free from ornament and artifice; that celebrate the beauty of craftsmanship and are made with the highest savoir-faire; commitment to social and environmental responsibility is the beating heart.

As is the case with every Chloé collection, reducing the Maison’s carbon footprint and prioritizing materials that enable this are of highest priority, without compromising on design and desirability. A turtleneck sweater in recycled cashmere is nonchalantly tucked into the waist of a pair of jeans in circular recycled cotton and hemp denim developed exclusively with Adriano Goldschmied. The idea of natural curves and cycles inform the curved engineered rib knit of sweaters in lower-impact wool and the round pattern pieces of a suede skirt with yoke details.

Chloé has created a bespoke cotton-wool tweed with multicolor mouliné threads that are used for a trench coat and new renditions of the Penelope shoulder bag. A bow motif that strips away the frills from this decorative knot travels across multiple categories including the Lacey bag; the shoulder of a nappa leather dress, gold-toned sculptural jewelry, elegant evening shoes and compact silk bustier dresses and bodysuits. Jewelry-inspired embellishments and ready-to-wear techniques intermesh with chains whip-stitched onto the lapels of double-breasted hourglass jackets and overcoats in lower-impact waffle wool.

The Resort 2024 festive capsule inspired by this archival piece comprises a coat and dress in wool crepe as well as bags, jewelry and footwear with arrow-shaped crystal embellishments.
