Actors and models by their very nature encapsulate an otherness. The Prada Spring 2023 ad campaign plays off that multifaceted nature, where a plurality adds complexity.
For the women’s collection, day and evening clothes cross-pollinate, the signs and signifiers of each shifting – opera coats fuse with leather jackets, tailoring borrows trains of fabric. Clothes for the intimacy of the home fuse with outerwear, in bodysuits of poplin shirting in industrial colors. Accessories propose an antique nappa, used to reinterpret archetypal and classic Prada handbag silhouettes.
For the men’s collection, there is a freshness and lightness to clothes that permit the body to move freely, a consciousness of its form and dynamic, an innate freedom and joy. Trousers draw close, cropped at the ankle or into brief shorts. A sequence of tailored black suits are a logical conclusion to this system of refinement.
The campaign features an ensemble cast of faces with immediate resonance and international renown including actors Vincent Cassel, Jaehyun Jeong, Louis Partridge, Hunter Schafer, Letitia Wright, alongside models Guinevere van Seenus and Rachel Williams.
