LOEWE NEW BOUTIQUE IN MUNICH

LOEWE NEW BOUTIQUE IN MUNICH

Loewe opens a two-story standalone store on Munich’s Maximilianstraße, the city’s most iconic retail destination.

July 7, 2020

Taking direction from Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, the new Loewe boutique in Munich store uses familiar tropes that are found across all the brand’s retail design. An intimate environment on a large scale, the brand’s products are interspersed with pieces of art, craft and design curated by Anderson. From painting and sculpture to furniture and crafted objects, the collection establishes a fluid relationship between pieces that one might find in an art collector’s home.

High quality materials including Campaspero limestone and smooth concrete can be found on the walls, floors and structural furniture. Braded maple wood and pink concrete have been introduced to the Loewe in-store appearance. In keeping with the character of the neighborhood, the Munich store respects the classic architecture by adding complementary interior details. Corrugated columns finished with concrete are a nod to the classical Doric style. The stair is clad in Campaspero stone. Natural lighting gives a warm atmosphere in a city where light is much appreciated.

A highlight will be eight 17th – 19th Century Portrait Miniatures, which influenced the Fall 2019 womenswear collection. To complete the space, a vertical garden is installed as the focal point of the entire space, a feature borrowed from the Casa Loewe flagship stores in London and Madrid.

The 300 square metre Loewe store will showcase the full range of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, bags, small leather goods, soft accessories, eyewear, jewelry and shoes.
