With six brand new shades, the Givenchy Beauty Prisme Libre 2020 collection can now be tailored to all skin tones, from the lightest to the darkest: an invisible veil for visible perfection. Numbered simply from 1 to 6, the shades start light for fair skin and become gradually deeper until they suit the darkest complexions.
Givenchy’s Makeup and Color Artistic Director Nicolas Degennes explains where this innovative idea came from: “The skin on the face is never all one color. You have to mix and blend three or four shades to recreate its natural radiance.”
Under the 4G-branded Prisme Libre sifter are four radiance-boosting shades: two corrective tones on the left to even out the complexion and two luminous hues on the right to blend the result and enhance the skin’s glow.
Nicolas Degennes was inspired by precious silks to create the most luminous shades yet. “Silk – especially muslin – is a flowing, airy fabric that follows the body’s curves,” he explains. “This was exactly the effect I hoped to achieve on skin.” This became the idea behind these six new Haute Couture shades, as conveyed by their names.
While staying true to the House’s codes, Prisme Libre’s iconic design has a new twist: the lid is now lacquered in black for a sleeker, more contemporary look and simply adorned with a silver version of the 4Gs – Givenchy’s signature.
