“It started with a photo on my mother’s mantelpiece of my brother and I on summer holiday in Italy when we were kids in the 1980s” explains Creative Director Paul Andrew. “We are wearing clashing Bermuda prints and smiles. I wanted to bring that feeling of fun and sun-drenched innocence into a modern context with a collection that is physically very light and knowingly bourgeois but which also has tangible depth, substance and care in its construction.”

A diverse cast showcases a layered and sophisticated collection by Ferragamo’s creative director Paul Andrew in which the artisanal plays against the directional to create pieces that transmit ease, confidence, individuality, and above all, freedom.

The Viva Shoe makes its debut in the Spring Summer 2020 collection. Lovingly re-interpreted from the house icon Vara – first designed by Salvatore Ferragamo’s daughter Fiamma in 1979 – the new Viva is characterized by a larger bow rendered in the same fabric as the shoe upper.
