SELF-PORTRAIT FIRST CONCEPT STORE IN NEW YORK CITY

Self-Portrait debuts its first American concept store in New Yokr City's SoHo neighborhood.

August 28, 2019

London-based affordable luxury brand Self-Portrait has opened its first store in New York, at 158 Mercer Street in SoHo.

From the moment you enter the new temporary concept shop, you are enveloped with Cire Trudon Odalisque, the signature scent of the Mayfair London flagship. The boutique is a 2,590 square foot space with soaring 22-foot ceilings, designed by StoreyStudio.

Inviting visitors on a journey of exploration, touch and discovery, the store is a tactile labyrinth of layered lace suspended within a timber structure. A soft, flowing gradient of tonal lighting illuminates the rings of hanging fabric, engaging at every moment, while decisively capturing the unique femininity that is self-portrait.

Amidst the visual dazzle, of course, hangs the Fall collection, once again characterized by Chong’s experimental textures and graceful silhouettes – which have already seduced the British royals. In addition to the ready-to-wear collection, a selection of swimwear and footwear, launched earlier this year, is also on offer.

Th store is only open only until December – but expect upcoming, limited edition products to include chic sticky notes, water bottles, tote bags, t-shirts, and sweatshirts.
