After teaming up with Balmain last year, L’Oreal Paris links up with another French fashion brand for a capsule makeup collection. The Isabel Marant x L’Oreal collection features a five piece line of limited-edition products set to be released later this month.
“I’ve always interpreted fashion’s ready-to-wear literally, and I couldn’t be more thrilled at this chance to do that in make-up with an on-the-go collection with L’Oréal Paris,” Marant said in a statement. “It has been a dream to get right inside make-up innovation and to offer this collection of day-into-night, natural-to-smoking make-up essentials I have always wanted.”
For the campaign imagery and commercial, the collaboration taps a diverse group of models. Using the tagline, ‘Most Wanted’, the advertisements star Liya Kebede, Chiharu Okunugi, Catherine McNeil and Lex Herl. The images take on western vibes with a white horse and printed ponchos. The line boasts of seven lipstick shades, highlighter and eyeshadow.
Catwalk make-up at the designer’s Paris Fashion Week shows is typically low-key, with perfected skin and softly defined features.
“This is a collaboration that’s really of the moment: synonymous with Parisian elegance, Isabel Marant is one of the great self-made designers today. Absolutely true to herself and her independence, she’s the perfect partner for the brand, in our drive to make every woman around the world feel worth it,” said Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou, L’Oréal Paris global brand president.
