In the wake Chanel‘s BLEU DE CHANEL Eau de Toilette, composed in 2010 by Jacques Polge, and BLEU DE CHANEL Eau de Parfum 2014, BLEU DE CHANEL now journeys into the uncharted territory of Parfum. Created by Olivier Polge, the new BLUE DE CHANEL fragrance unleashes all the power as the Perfumer and Creator chose to evoke a serene intensity that gradually fills the space with its incredibly refined presence.

In 2018, BLEU DE CHANEL Parfum adjusts the proportions of wood and citrus of the two previous interpretations. Immediately recognizable, the olfactory core of the very first fragrance is tattooed on the skin with the same, shiver-inducing top notes, the refreshing zests and the fresh sensation of lavender and geranium. Cedar quickly begins to beat at the heart of the formula, running through it like a backbone rooted in the soil and rising to the sky. But another wood begins to play its score, slowly winding around the cedar, making its way to the surface and pulsing with all its power. This creamy, milky, addictive sandalwood from New Caledonia is a rare species protected in part by CHANEL through its sourcing from a sustainable supplier. Fractionated, pared down and divested of anything superfluous, this sandalwood combines strength with a soft touch to create a denser, more intense trail that nevertheless expresses its delicateness. A noble energy you cannot d without once you’ve experienced it.

“The difficulty was trying to set the right tone to convey what a ‘parfum for men’ could be. We had to avoid simply repeating what had already been done. Intensity and refinement can be expressed without throwing an olfactory punch. That is why I wanted to give more space to the sandalwood, to let it fuse with the cedar and fresh top notes,” said Olivier Polge.
