STELLA MCCARTNEY RESORT 2018 COLLECTION

STELLA MCCARTNEY RESORT 2018 COLLECTION

Get a feel for the British Caribbean island life at the womenswear presentation in New York.

June 12, 2017

The Stella McCartney Resort 2018 collection at the centre of the presentation is a celebration of the brand’s signature irreverent style with a vibrancy and individuality.

They look again to classic tailoring, embracing a masculinity yet contrasting that with a sensually feminine waist slashed at the side seams. There’s fun to be had with a play on construction and splicing of fabric, as garments have a sense of reassembled style. A strip of our innovative sustainable viscose runs down a trouser leg and past the hem to trail behind.

‘All is love,’ Stella McCartney’s bold motif by artist Urs Fischer, reappears on the seams of skirts and jackets.

The season’s standout prints evoke the tropics. Take yourself there with wild hibiscus flowers in leaf green and deep blue; bird of paradise motifs on manipulated volumes; and tropical volcanos, flamingos, flowers and palm tree-inspired embroideries on tops.

The iconic Falabella bag becomes two-for-one with a reversible quality: on one side find rich block colours or embroidered volcanos, while a cruelty-free alter-suede is on the flip side. Or for something new, look out for the new Stella Star bag with quilting and brass closure.

Between the coconut shy and tropical-inspired decorations, models embrace the Stella spirit and playfully dance to Caribbean steel drums and Ky-Mani Marley’s reggae performance.

Guests who enjoyed our tropical party included Alec Baldwin, Lauren Hutton, Lily Collins, Helena Christensen, Natalia Vodianova, Anja Rubik, Debbie Harry, Chris Rock and many more.
