The Giorgio Armani Spring 2017 ad campaign was shot by famed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott featuring models Heather Kemesky, Lara Mullen, Maartje Verhoef, and Sophia Ahrens.

With black and white imagery, the campaign plays on sharp shadowing and intricate lighting. The simplistic yet artistic approach has the models posing in a dramatic stance with a background wind blowing their hair showing movement.

For the Giorgio Armani Spring 2017 collection, the emphasis is on filmy fabrics in watery florals and iridescent textures that variously evoked scales, fishnet, and moonlight on the sea. Shorts are double-layered, the print encased within transparent silk for a bubble-like effect. Jackets for the most part have the ease of cardigans, fastening at the neck. Fringe takes over, and the outfits are accessorized to the hilt: large sun hats are worn off the head, sunglasses, gladiator sandal–boot hybrids that extend halfway up the calf, earrings galore.

Go behind the scenes of the ad campaign and discover the intricate details of the collection.
