The Isabel Marant Spring 2017 collection featured everyday femininity with cool French girl dressing. The combination of sporty, utilitarian, and slight bohemian references was shown through a determined look of workwear.

The uniform showed multiple volumes, overalls at work, high-waisted styles, tightened belts giving way to a new femininity. The workwear details—patch pockets, contrast stitching, exposed zippers, and such—were an added bonus. Replete with ruffles, covered in Liberty London-style floral prints, and finished with the billowing statement sleeves we’ve seen all over the runways for Spring. The workwear details—patch pockets, contrast stitching, exposed zippers, and such—were an added bonus. The designer loves a good boilersuit, too, and here, they were either rolled down to the waist or cinched with corsets.

The collection featured touches of pink and candy apple red. Then came an electric lamé exposing some metallic hints throughout.

The shoes—a hybrid of a Pilates sock, kitten heel, and Japanese sandal—gave the clothes their footing in the most literal way, and replaced the tomboy boots she has previously favored.
