The latest M Missoni Fall 2016 ad campaign, shot in the London Spring Studios, finds inspiration in the collection’s mood, clearly referencing to a distinctly British Spirit, in both classic severity-elegance and equally typical fun, fresh and quirky modes. All the same, in perfect sync with its bright, upbeat and contemporary Dna, the M Missoni Fall 2016 collection finds inspiration in the beat mood of Fifty years back yet also in the Rave Parties of modern times.
The sense of severity comes through smoothly in the definition of forms. Skirts are a line, while jackets & co. – including short capes vaguely à la Queen Elizabeth on vacation at Balmoral Castle – feature a trapezoid shape or, in alternative, a straight sartorial cut. Similarly, dresses, blouses and jumpers bordering on an English nanny style appear structurally austere of design. By contrast, pants and long plissé knit skirts may make a softly sinuous or swingy statement.
Behind the lens, fashion photographer Mel Bles , gave life to the perfect archetype of a free, unconventional and spontaneous femininity. The model Lea Holzfuss interprets the collection playing with four funny and impactful looks, showing the bright, upbeat, contemporary Dna of M Missoni. Art direction is by Jasmine Raznahan, styling by Vanessa Reid, while the makeup is by Gemma Smith-Edhouse and the hairstyle by Tina Outen.
