This season, the See By Chloé girl reflects on her romantic side, embodying a rebellious and youthful spirit with nostalgic flair. Channelling the carefree cool of bohemian sirens, her wardrobe spans a feminine array of subtle, textured separates with poetic detailing. A dusty rainbow palette ranges from sorbet shades of pearl blue and acid yellow through to the pale earth tones of lavender, tobacco and pink clay. Forest greens, indigo denim, and deep purple ground the washed, feminine colours on a wintery base.

“There is a bold sense of romance to this season’s See By Chloé girl, she is nostalgic and a little bohemian but in a poetic and European way. She wraps cosy flared layers over prints and pleats – it’s not too studied, but elegant and relaxed” says Clare Waight Keller.

The See By Chloé Fall 2016 collection features layered silhouette is loose and long, with a high neckline, flared sleeves and velvet belts at the waist for a soft elegance. Double-breasted military coats and bell sleeve heather ribbed knitwear are worn with wide, pooling trousers and tiered skirts that fall to the ankles in floaty georgette, loopback jersey, or lace knit. English paisleys and leafy florals appear as broderie anglaise and scallop-edged crepe, even screen-printed on wool knit tops for a delicate clash of pattern and texture.

Signature ‘Bisou’ quilting returns as a light burgundy waistcoat and a golden blouson, adding an urban touch to the sensual line up. Denim appears as an ice blue overall or the fuzzy touch of an indigo moleskin miniskirt, and polished cotton is padded to create a wrapped cocoon coat and button-up cape. The delicate touch of organza flowers or a pussy bow neckline softens poet blouses, and silk edging trims the lapel of a mannish pea coat.

Flat alpine boots are lined in natural shearling, and a calf-length platform is striped in autumnal suede bands. The two-handle ‘Paige’ bag is crafted in a dark patchwork of art deco suede, and the double-pocket suede camera bag is tasselled in the season’s shade of warm caramel.
