Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez deliver a tropical Proenza Schouler Resort 2016 collection inspired by a trip to Cuba, where the country’s unique charm shines through.

They pay homage to both the island’s tropical charm and sense of deterioration through juxtaposition. The collection’showcases tropical print with a distinctly urban flavor thanks to the spongy satin it appeared on and such zippy finishes as tacked seams expose skin.

“The feeling of something a little undone,” was how McCollough put it, with an easy sense of Latin romance.

The grommets that decorated sheer chiffon dresses last season reappeared on easier-to-wear cotton pieces, not to mention a range of leather bags. Fall’s tweeds, meanwhile, came in a lighter weight. Sleeveless dresses look elegant as they were effortless. Knits were highlighted with tricot tunics and skirts with a cool mélange adding the quality of versatility to the equation, making it virtually impossible to resist.
