When two legends meet, the sparks can be dazzling. On one hand there is the buckle, the emblem of Roger Vivier. On the other is an ultimately white sneaker, the skateboarders’ icon. With the Roger Vivier Sneaky Viv’ collection , for the first time the brand presents sneakers at the heart of its collection, revealing a day-wear attitude combining edginess and sophistication.
“I wanted to imagine what a Vivier sneaker could be like, what elements it would need to still have to be us,” said Bruno Frisoni on the new Sneaky Viv’ slip-on styles, finished with an outsize brand buckle done in crystal. In tuxedo silk satins, they could be white-tie appropriate even despite the casual gum sole.
The Pilgrim buckle, here made of baguette-sized crystals, adorns the white or black patent leather of the shoe. A striking contrast between its casual spirit and the extreme sophistication of a jewel the sneakers exude energy with a bit of attitude. For those seeking something a little less ostentatious, the Sneaky Viv’ also comes in a style with simple zip on the side, available as a nod to Winter 2015’s masculine derbies. This model adopts the season’s codes: multicolored leather appliqué flowers like paper cut-outs.
For now, the sneakers come in white, navy, pink and grey.
