High jewelry house Van Cleef & Arpels has joined forces with venerable French publisher Gallimard to create a luxurious book that reflects the high standards of craftsmanship and style that the two houses have in common.

Titled ‘An Exercise in Style’, the 230-page hardcover contains 25 words that define the quintessence of Van Cleef & Arpels are illustrated by friends of the Maison – personalities from the world of Culture and Art – such as Benjamin Millepied, Alber Elbaz, Valérie Belin, Michel Serres, Camille Laurens, Alain Passard.

As Van Cleef & Arpels ‘An Exercise in Style’ book is a literary and poetic stroll through the vocabulary of the Maison, each word is an experience, sparking surprise, wonder or contemplation. We invite you to discover, for example, the expression of luck by Laurent Derobert, danse by Benjamin Millepied, transmission by David Caméo, High Jewelry according to Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku or creation as defined by Jean de Loisy.

Marking each chapter in the book are intricate laser-cut paperworks depicting fairies and other imagery related to Van Cleef & Arpels’ designs; delicate, elaborate and perfectly designed, these creative “intermissions” subtly remind us that it is not by chance that Gallimard is one of the leading publishing houses in the world.

The book ‘An Exercise in Style’ is now available through various vendors online.
