Christian Dior has just announced the opening of its first stand-alone retail boutique in Canada at the Hotel Vancouver in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The first Christian Dior boutique in Canada is comprised of two selling floors and takes its inspiration from the original concept of the Paris Avenue Montaigne Flagship boutique designed by Peter Marino.
The first floor offers accessories, bags, luxury bags, fine jewelry, and watches. The upper level offers ready-to-wear, eveningwear, shoes, and hosts a dedicated VIP fitting room.
Dior commissioned several contemporary artists to design works for the boutique that reflect the codes of the house – cosmic ceiling glass and glass text by Rob Wynne, a stainless steel and quartz cocktail table by Damian Garrido, a “Bishop” stool by India Mahdavi, a “Fillo” table by Alexander Lamont,” a bench by Christopher Schank, and a video wall by artist Yoram displayed along the staircase connecting the two floors of the boutique.
Additional highlights include a Louis XVI style marble and bronze antique fireplace in the evening salon and Zodiac lighting in the shape of Mr. Dior’s Aquarius sign in the fine jewelry salon.
Dior Vancouver will open alongside the new Dior Homme boutique at the heritage-listed Hotel Vancouver. The stores will operate independently, with separate entry points, however there will be an internal pass-through between both spaces in an effort to encourage a complete Dior experience.
