The Balenciaga Fall 2015 ad campaign features two big model coups and the power of provocation. Kate Moss and Lara Stone were shot together for the first time.

“For me, the Fall collection began with the real women of Balenciaga — women who are multifaceted and multidimensional: strong and sensual yet also austere and mysterious,” said Alexander Wang, Balenciaga’s creative director to WWD. “I wanted the first image for the campaign to frame Kate and Lara in a mysterious conversation.”

Captured by revered photographer Steven Klein, a handbag-toting Stone leans over Britain’s most famous model, who in turn has her arm draped across Stone’s shoulder. The two wear matching fabrics from the label’s autumn/winter 2015 collection and convey an intensity that makes the viewer feel on the border of voyeurism.

The Balenciaga Fall 2015 ad campaign images were shot by Steven Klein with art direction by Pascal Dangin of KiDS Creative. Panos Yiapanis styled the shoot while Anthony Turner did hair and Val Garland handled makeup. The campaign will appear in international publications in July.
