This season, Creative Director Frida Giannini has energized the basic shoulder flap bag with a dressing of fringe and tassels exposed in the latest Gucci Nouveau Fringe handbag collection.

Referencing a flap shoulder bag model from Gucci’s archives in the 1940s, this reincarnation comes in punches of black, berry and red (among others) and dressed in exotic skins. Notable ones include the silky sheen of the suede cachemire – printed leather made from calfskin – as well as the seductive allure of soft, laminated python. The new handbag features a hand-burnished bamboo frame and also 46 strands of precision-cut fringe.
