BOTTEGA VENETA FALL 2018 RTW COLLECTION

Bottega Veneta's Fall collection is an ode to New York and its character.

February 19, 2018

With a shiny new Madison Avenue flagship in New York, Tomas Maier brought the Bottega Veneta Fall 2018 collections for men and women to the bustling city.

Bottega Veneta secured the American Stock Exchange as a venue and built out a set complete with a working fireplace and a John Chamberlain sculpture. The set, designed to look like a stylishly eclectic apartment, provided the perfect backdrop for the women’s and men’s collection which were inspired by both the bold and brave character of New Yorkers and the city’s iconic architecture.

After Maier took his bow, editors, VIPs and models all joined for a cocktail party to celebrate the momentous one-season-only event. Guests lounged on Gio Ponti chairs, gathered around a pair of dinner tables, and otherwise lingered to mingle among the crowd.

The collection featured a trio of multicolored wool dresses inspired by the grillwork found in New York City elevators embroidered and cut away, revealing two layers underneath. Other pieces included the finest silver chain and  jewel tone silk pj sets and onesies. This was Maier’s salute to what he sees as New Yorkers’ bold, brave spirit. “Among millions of people, it’s nice to make a mark,” he said.
