The nuanced and ever-changing nature of the sky is reflected in the Giorgio Armani Privé Spring 2018 Haute Couture collection defined by lightness: a balance achieved through contrast and prints made to resemble watercolors.

The collection features a series of show-stopping dresses and sharply focused outfits revealed during the latest Spring showcase. With soft trousers, and asymmetrical tunic tops, the line up made a statement. As for dresses: One or two lean, midi silhouettes could qualify for the dignified league. At the end, there was an interesting moment when a handful of women entered, with men in velvet suits walking two paces behind them.

Standout details include elaborate embroidery, delicate fabrics and meticulous hand-beaded embellishments. The runway show was Paris’ high fashion extravaganza, from breathtaking volume, shape and color combinations to dresses covered in sequins that shimmer like raindrops of pure elegance.

With Marion Cotillard and Isabelle Huppert sitting center-front, in the middle of the movie-awards season, the focus is clearly on dressing stars.

Notable guests in attendance at the show described what values they associate the word Privé with and shared their thoughts on the collection they saw unveil on the runway for the first time.
