For the Jimmy Choo Resort 2018 collection, Creative Director, Sandra Choi references fireworks arching across a darkened sky. Coloured beams of light cutting across a dance floor. The twinkling panorama of a night-time cityscape viewed from below. The collection deploys richness and sophistication to ignite a collection that radiates with brilliance and infectious energy designed to transfix the watcher and transport the wearer.
Headline fabrications include constellations of micro-crystals heat-fixed into uppers and rainbow hues of oversized gems inlaid into heels. Pearl encrusted leather, playful lamé fringing and cut crystal brooches are conversations running through the collection while Jimmy Choo signature glitter dances across shoes and bags.
The Cruise collection sees the introduction of a capsule of styles that are literally ‘Borrowed from the Boys’. The Jimmy Choo Men’s iconic evening slippers and loafers appear in feminine form. Crystal appliqué evening slippers, velvet jewel hued and fur trimmed loafers conjure effortless dressing with a whisper of androgyny.
“Cruise is all about celebration. For this collection I thought a lot about the interplay of lightness and darkness – you need one to appreciate the other. Whether in colour, shape, fabrication or drape this collection is about combining bold elements that illuminate an outline of beauty, mystery and attraction ensuring you shimmer in the dark,” said Sandra Choi, Creative Director
