Victoria’s Secret has called on Balmain to create a line up of embellished lingerie looks for the yearly runway show

Balmain‘s Creative Director Olivier Rousteing will be designing custom looks for the much anticipated Victoria’s Secret catwalk in Shanghai. Though the lingerie giant has called upon designers to create runway pieces in the past, the #VSxBalmain collaboration will mark the first time the brand has partnered with a fashion house on an in-store collection.

“We need to give to the public, which is a really incredible crowd, what they expect and even more, surprising them,” Rousteing says in the video. “So I think we worked all together to make sure that it’s going to be a big shock. They’re gonna be like, ‘Oh wow, Balmain and Victoria’s Secret together? It’s like magic.'”

The partnership is a natural fit, as many members of Balmain’s Army are also Victoria’s Secret angels bringing the star factor to its runways. The French designer will choose sassy friends Sara Sampaio, Joan Smalls, Alessandra Ambrosio and Karlie Kloss to model his first mainline foray into underwear.
