In her relatively short tenure at the oldest living French house, Bouchra Jarrar has reshaped the Lanvin silhouette with her expert tailoring and discreet elegance, while preserving the label’s iconic Parisian sensibility. This latest Lanvin Resort 2018 collection was overseen by Jarrar before her departure and sees the couturier’s precise cuts applied to chic shifts and the languid suiting she’s known for.

The collection featured relaxed ivory tuxedo, and flattering day dresses in poplin, or in broderie anglaise with collar flounces and handkerchief skirts. The strongest impact came from total matched looks—shoes and bags included—covered in floral motifs, whether a vivid emerald print, a bronze lamé, or a textured jacquard.

Among this season’s fresh lineup of color is a print pulled from the archives and the re-emergence of Lanvin blue—it’s incredibly timeless on a silk trench.

The jewelry included the delicately shaped petal designs captured the sensitivity that women associate with Lanvin. It was pointed out that the curved metal hardware on one of the bags suggested a smile.
