Floridita, the sophomore We Are Kindred Resort 2018 collection from Elizabeth and Georgie Renkert, is a celebration of bohemia in the sultry Cuban heat.

The collection is inspired by exotic beauties Bianca Jagger and Eva Mendes holidaying in the late afternoon sun in vibrant, old town Havana. The Kindred girl for Resort 2018 relishes in its inimitable charm and energy, but exudes a fresh, modern glamour and worldly sensibility.

True to Kindred’s sexy and feminine silhouettes, luxurious fabrications and embellishments work together to add a new dimension to the aesthetic of the collection. Silks are revered – either embroidered or accentuated with lurex threading. Viscose crepe is embellished with faux leather floral applique and decorative woven brocades are worn with cotton laces with soft chiffon contrasts. Shades of mango, mulberry, pink and teal are at the heart of the colour palette, with injections of crisp, clean whites. We Are Kindred’s signature florals are also updated this season for a spirited mix of prints and textures.

Elegant dresses and relaxed separates are accentuated with playful ruffles, tassel details and eyelet braid trims. This offering is echoed in the brand’s newly introduced capsule of swimwear, with pretty floral pieces worn back with dreamy, lightweight duster jackets. This layering is key throughout the collection for Resort 18, adding a new attitude to the Kindred visual. Floridita is peppered with accents that embody sensuality – self-covered buttons, open sleeves, exposed shoulders, plunging necklines and gentle drapery – all capturing the beauty and bohemian essence of We Are Kindred.
