Riccardo Tisci’s new positive perspectives on life set him on a journey to the USA, giving way to a wild West-inspired Givenchy Spring 2017 Haute Couture collection, glamorously focused on some of America’s most iconic motifs.

He tapped muses Mariacarla Boscono, Lea T, Liya Kebede, Joan Smalls, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Vittoria Ceretti, Yasmin Wijnaldum, Blanca Padilla, Angelica Erthal, and Elizabeth Salt as the show’s models, capturing a sense of reassuring continuity that already is one of Givenchy’s most acclaimed patterns.

The designer focused on nostalgic Vichy patterns, frilled detailing on pilgrim collars as well as hems, or on more Twenties and Thirties-inspired designs, such as sensually sheer fabrics and feathered appliqués with his notorious gothic patterns.

The red checked dress with a high ruffled neck, a deep back, and 3-D sequins were overtly pioneer looks.
