The future is orange as the Armani Privé Spring 2017 Haute Couture collection was showcased to an audience that included Oscar nominees.
Partial to a bold hue Giorgio Armani applied the bright orange colour in multiple ways. It appeared as coral embroidery, as a tightly fitted tangerine silk jacket, a blouson, an orange crocodile skin jacket with padded shoulders, as a head-to-toe silk ensemble, lacy gowns, sequin trousers, feathered capes. The designer said he liked the optimism of orange, that it looks as good on a blonde as it does on a brunette. It is important to note that there also was black numbers with several arresting contenders.
The jackets were extremely well tailored with shoulders that were made to appear more structural thanks to the waist of the jackets being so tightly constructed. They were treated to amazing embroideries that took hundreds of hours to complete by hand in the Armani ateliers.
The gowns and two-piece dress ensembles were the real magic happens. Here is where Armani truly took advantage of his exquisite materials such as the crocodile skins and special laces that he created for the collection. These dresses were features in his reserved colors by the wealth of crystal embroideries, beadings, sequins and more laces.
