The Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2017 collection plays on contrasts of form and texture; tradition and the playful, exploring the insouciant British attitude to style. Masculine-inspired outerwear invites strong silhouettes; intricately-woven knitwear demonstrates minute fringe detail and argyle patterns, houndstooth check and checkerboard are heritage moments.

Denim comes fluted on skirts next to asymmetric, funnel-neck tops. A new fox Fur Free Fur is paired with a micro floral-printed crepe de chine inspired by traditionally-tailored men’s necktie prints. Lean, masculine silhouettes define tailoring, worn with drainpipe trousers that pile-up at the shoe. Sustainable viscose and organic cotton line all of our tailoring.

Nostalgia with a nod to British irreverence is demonstrated through bold primary-coloured comic strip print from The Dandy series on organic cotton separates. Characters include Dinah Mo, Cuddles & Dimples, and Korky the Cat – a Stella touch with playful humour.

Updated styles of our iconic Falabella Box and Go sit next to the new Stella Popper bag with circular button hardware. Jewellery looks vintage with delicate pearl earrings and necklaces purposely made to feel fragile.

The collection was unveiled in Harlem’s iconic jazz Cotton Club with guests including Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts and Maggie Gyllenhaal. A surprise performance by Alicia Keys was a highlight of the evening.
