This season, the Chanel Fall 2016 collection is a wardrobe for the sophisticated modern-day Amazonian.

The Chanel woman is enveloped in soft comfortable knits embellished with metallic rivets and worn over ample pleated skirts in silk. Tweed comes in black and fuchsia pink: through the zip-up slits of dresses a lining in gold, silver or bronze lamé is revealed. The iconic jacket is shortened into a bolero. Pearl sautoirs accumulate and are worn like scarves over masculine-cut reefer jackets.

On long delicate dresses, the patent leather collars and lacing contrast with the fluidity of the pleated chiffon or tulle. The boater hats in tweed, felt or leather are held on like riding hats with a strap adorned with a camellia. Fun, youthful accessories, such as the cat cuff bracelets and the emoticon jewellery punctuate the silhouette with humour. Riding boots with horizontal lacing complete the allure of this decidedly Amazonian look.

Pink, red, fuchsia and denim as well as black saturate the photographs imbuing these images with a contemporary energy.
