The Zuhair Murad Resort 2017 collection features floral sprigs, chantilly lace and multi-hued embroideries with a ’70s spin.

Inspired by photographer David Hamilton and painter Henri Rousseau, the collection features Murad’s signature embroideries as well as body-clinging silhouettes. The hallmarks of each artist played out individually; Hamilton’s 1970s bohemian ingenues were conjured up with gauzy pastel dresses in tiers of plumetis and Chantilly lace with smocked detailing, or delicately knit palazzo pants and flowy beachside dresses in all-white; whereas vibrant embroideries of tropical flora and fauna nodded to Rousseau’s tropical scenes.

Featuring extravagant embellishments with infusion of plumetis, the crystals on the sweatshirts, there is a luxe feel with the draped suede jumpsuit, the tricolor macramé lace dresses, the insertion of capes, delicately knit palazzo pants, flowy beach-side dresses all in white.

The lookbook is captured against the backdrop of tropical foliage, bringing an exotic taste. Although the Lebanese designer is known for his exquisite dress work, the new season introduces sporty vibes. Think embroidered jeans, crop tops and bomber jackets for more casual outings.
