Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the photographers who captured the La Perla Fall 2016 ad campaign with intensity and creative vision, are focusing on the elegance and sensuality of the new creative spirit of the brand’s collection.
Mert & Marcus reveal a natural yet intense side of Liu Wen, who is a model and spokesperson for La Perla accompianed by Valery Kaufman and Sasha Luss who also portray both the heritage and the height of luxe alongside the contemporary and avant-garde style that cuts through each piece.
The narrative theme connecting the imagery comes from a representation of conscious and spontaneous femininity. Lingerie, beachwear, nightwear, bags, shoes and accessories are featured in black and white shots alongside images on backgrounds in shades from nude to powder rose to echo the tones of the collection.
This season, La Perla’s Creative Director Pedro Lourenço, brings his architectural approach reinterpreting the codes of intimates.
The key elements that stand out from the collection are the “Autografo” pieces, the swimtimate creations and the exclusive techniques that represent the heritage of the brand. Graphical silhouettes redefine intimates with the nudity of the body used like a canvas for dégradé effects with laser cuts and micro-paillette linear motifs. The idea of extended intimacy imbues the collection with the glamour of lingerie in styles that easily transition from home to an evening out.
Lourenço’s stylistic vision delineates in a full collection of accessories: bags, shoes, jewelry, belts, and hats completes La Perla’s lifestyle proposition. Shoes echo the brand’s profound sensuality, with ankle straps and feminine heels enhanced by graphic illusions. The architectural sun hats present a dramatic new silhouette, rendered strikingly in rigid cotton. Sterling silver jewelry, calfskin belts, and bags in leather or canvas complete looks with a casual elegance in tune with La Perla’s style codes.
