The strength of femininity is the message behind the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2016 ad campaign by creative director Peter Dundas.

Defining his vision of today’s Roberto Cavalli heroine, for spring 2016 Dundas turned to Inez van Lamsveerde and Vinoodh Matadin to capture her first incarnation, and sublimate the essence of the revitalised Roberto Cavalli label.

A powerful expression of female identity, the campaign stars Edie Campbell, constant yet-ever-changing, a tomboy clad in acid-wash denim embroidered and tailored with couture precision, or billowing silk taffeta ball skirts worn with the casual nonchalance of jeans.

Formal and everyday mix together, creating a fusion that is instantly, identifiably contemporaneous. Taking couture back to the street. An homage to the Cavalli codes of the past, and a delineation of their new future.

Everything is precious, bar the attitude.

“It’s about the strength of a woman,” said Peter Dundas, creative director of Roberto Cavalli. “Strength, and different ways of showing it.”
