Designer Hedi Slimane photographs the Saint Laurent Spring 2016 Skin collection captured in simple black and white images, highlighting the details of the collection.

For Spring, all dresses are worn with oversized men’s tailoring or leather jackets as well as ’90s inspired thin Paris heeled sandals or Saint Laurent festival boots. Hedi’s recurring Saint Laurent slip dresses began in the 2013 grunge collection. A grunge tiara is the key piece of the collection – worn with anything.

The grunge and glitter theme translates into variations on the bias-cut slip dress in metallic sequins or velvet patchwork, liquid gold charmeuse or black silk, plus glam fur and feather chubbies. But Slimane’s primary source of appropriation this season is the everyday wardrobe. Everyday as in a trenchcoat over jeans, cotton tank tops, oversized denim jacket, pair of blue denim short overalls and patchwork cape.

This shows a new turn for the glamorous brand, giving way to a more effortless yet fashionable statement for the Saint Laurent women.
