The Victoria Beckham Pre-Fall 2016 collection focuses on versatility and ease. Taking the wearer across continents and climates, a cohesive edit of confident separates in a new strong colour palette can be styled together as desired. Outerwear offerings range from lightweight and fluid undercoats to more structured styles in patchwork suede and tailored tweed. Knitwear – bouclé, crochet, and cashmere – has a new, gauzy lightness this season, and gently skims the body for a delicate effect. Continuing this feeling of weightlessness, sheer lace dresses and light midi skirts provide perfect bases for layering looks.

Japanese premium denim, first introduced in the Resort 2016 collection, continues to develop its place within the collection and broadens the stable of daywear options. Providing a modern take on tailoring a tie-waist gilet reveals slices of layered colour beneath. In contrast to this androgynous proposal, intricate prints of matchsticks, gemstones and glinting earrings featuring Swarovski crystals add a carefree attitude to loose blouses and pleated dresses.

“This season represents the continuing development of our pre collections,” said Beckham. “I really wanted to explore our separates even further, focusing on creating a wearable wardrobe of multi-layered options for my customer to choose from. Pieces can be easily styled together, so she can really start to merchandisethe collection for herself. This sense of versatility and the abilit y to layer different weights and silhouettes is something I feel strongly about. This is how I am building my own wardrobe and I wanted to represent this idea within the collection”.
