Alexander Wang has just introduced his new line of fine jewelry which was included in his Spring runway and has expanded the range for Pre-Fall to include a pill-inspired assortment.

“That was more of me submitting an idea and they would handle the whole process, working with artisans,” said Wang, whereas at Balenciaga, he was involved from sketch to production and pricing. “I really got a hand on it in Paris,” he said. “We were really successful with the jewelry that I did [at Balenciaga].”

The new Alexander Wang jewelry pieces feature the tough-chic, cool aesthetic the designer is noted for. The collection, produced in Italy, features chain pieces that are brass-plated in palladium and lock pieces that are brass-plated in 24-karat gold.

“I always wanted to do jewelry, but I never felt like I had the opportunity. I’ve had my hands quite full,” Wang explained.

Wang had collaborated on jewelry pieces in the past with Betony Vernon and Gaia Repossi for his previous collections. The designer was also successful with the jewelry he developed for Balenciaga, which he handled from concept to pricing, until Wang’s departure from the brand this past fall.

Prices for the Alexander Wang jewelry line range from $295 for the earrings to $525 for the double-lock necklace and will launch on AlexanderWang.com and in Alexander Wang stores mid-December.
