Cartier’s iconic panther has competition as British model and singer-songwriter Karen Elson takes center stage. The red-haired model appears in the Cartier Holiday 2015 film campaign dripping in dazzling white diamonds.

Elson is seen channelling Marilyn Monroe as she is surrounded by a bevvy of suitors, recalling scenes from the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Directed by Johan Renck, the film’s soundtrack features Elson singing the 1949 song Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.

Cartier stages its collection at Phillips auction-house gallery in Berkeley Square as of November 25th. Entitled Le Diamant, the by-appointment-only, two-day exhibition will showcase over 150 Cartier diamond jewels – the largest collection ever brought together in one place in the UK.

“Le Diamant captures the spirit of Cartier’s forward-thinking aesthetics and savoir-faire,” says Laurent Feniou, UK managing director of Cartier. “It has enabled the Maison to create some of the most recognisable and admired pieces of jewellery in the world.”

Featuring one-of-a-kind High Jewellery pieces alongside diamond styles from Cartier’s contemporary ranges, Le Diamant will display rare treasures from the archive as part of its travelling Tradition collection, including the Oriental tiara which was created in 1911. It will also showcase the new Galanterie de Cartier collection – an art deco-inspired range featuring overlapping concentric circles of diamond, onyx and black lacquer.

Watch the short film of music and images set entirely in Place Vendôme and the Grand Palais in Paris where the reverie of the evening sees beauty met with elegance.
