For the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2016 runway show, the designer looked to the desert for inspiration from bohemian luxe to Grecian draping and ladylike romance.

The effect was of luxe peasant princesses whose chiffon dresses were threaded through golden rings at the neckline, came braided along the waist or appeared woven into being at the bodice.

These artisanal touches gave this easy-going lineup of raw-edged tunic dresses, suede patchwork jackets and ribbon-skirted gowns a sense of substance and style. The collection showed a nice graphic development. The architectural ethic print used on maxi dresses looked novel and enticing.

The exotic desert spice palette of the ethereal collection presented a rich sand-and-shadow color scheme of beige, black and rust that gave tonal depth to the romantic bohemian. Ferretti said she had focused on a more diverse casting “because fashion speaks to all of the world.”
