Known to many as simply ‘that dress’, in 2005 it became one of fashion’s most revolutionary and sought after pieces. Worn and adored by so many, it still remains the dress of choice for countless celebrities and dignitaries across the world. Ten years later, Roland Mouret celebrates its timeless versatility, which continually adapts itself to reflect a woman’s personal, inimitable style.
Roland Mouret’s body-sculpting Galaxy dress is recognized by its angular neckline, pleated cap sleeves and nipped waist. This October, the French-born, London-based designer introduces the Roland Mouret Galaxy 10, a limited-edition capsule that marks the 10th anniversary of the iconic design.
Mouret reimagined the hourglass shape in modern silhouettes—a tailored jumpsuit, peplum top, fitted leather jacket and pencil skirt—and will also offer the original dress in exclusive colors from rose to peppermint green. “I try to achieve that sense of glamour without taking away the personality of the woman who wears it,” says Mouret. “You see the woman before you see the dress.”
