Manolo Blahnik launches a new capsule collection of six clutch bags. Each bag features a magnified buckle which already exists on the designer’s most coveted, timeless styles of shoes such as Hangisi, Nadira, Borlak and Okkato. The jewels which grace the footwear, now land on bags only bigger and more striking.

Every woman needs a jewel. Something very special and beautiful. There is nothing more stunning than a feminine hand holding a gem-like object. The clutches are made in opulent satins and crepe de chine with leather interiors and are decorated with sparkly accessories composed of Swarovski crystals,” said Blahnik.

It was the discovery of what Blahnik calls, “extraordinary artisans in Italy” that made the time right to expand his design portfolio more comprehensively than before, although he took his time getting them exact to his requirements.

Chief Executive Officer Kristina Blahnik said, for the moment, the designs are evening-focused, and future collections will have different colorways and crystals, such as sapphires or rubies. The company is also looking at doing day bags as well.

The Prices range from $1,725 to $1,925, and the bags will be stocked at Manolo Blahnik units on London’s Old Church Street and in Manhattan at 31 West 54th Street. They will also sell at stores including Liberty, Harrods and Brown Thomas and in markets including Italy, Sweden and Germany.
